The Montgomery Catholic Knights put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Dale County 63-0 at home. Fans of Montgomery Catholic have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Montgomery Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Griffin, who rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns, and also caught a touchdown. Griffin is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Mccreary, who threw for 193 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Montgomery Catholic's win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 49 points. As for Dale County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Montgomery Catholic will be playing at home against Andalusia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Andalusia is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Dale County, they will head out on the road to face off against Booker T. Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Booker T. Washington presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Dale County in Alabama (Booker T. Washington is ranked 110th, while Dale County is ranked 233rd).
