After two games on the road, Madison Plains is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Columbus School for Girls Unicorns at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Monday, Madison Plains was the victim of a rough 49-27 loss at the hands of West Liberty-Salem. Madison Plains has struggled against West Liberty-Salem recently, as their match on Monday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Claire Mason, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Vallery, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Madison Plains struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Columbus School for Girls came up short against Bishop Ready on Tuesday and fell 48-36. While losing is never fun, Columbus School for Girls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 515th, while Bishop Ready is ranked 187th).
Madison Plains bumped their record down to 2-6 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Columbus School for Girls, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
