It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Moss Point Tigers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Bryant out 48-45. Given Moss Point's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 135th in Mississippi, while Bryant is ranked 382nd in Alabama), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Quey'sean Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Moss Point's points. Jujuan Nettles was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight assists.
Moss Point's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-6. As for Bryant, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Moss Point will be home for the holidays to greet West Harrison at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bryant, they will head out on the road to face off against Chickasaw at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
