The timing isn't great for Gainesville: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Throckmorton has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Gainesville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-41 to Mineral Wells. While losing is never fun, Gainesville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1183rd, while Mineral Wells is ranked 521st).
Throckmorton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 31 points or more this season. They breezed by Bryson on the road to the tune of 80-6. Throckmorton's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Gainesville has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Throckmorton, their win bumped their record up to 14-1.
