The Palm Beach Lakes Rams suffered their biggest defeat since November 25, 2023 on Saturday. They took a serious blow against American Heritage, falling 67-35. While losing is never fun, Palm Beach Lakes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while American Heritage is ranked 11th).
Palm Beach Lakes' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laniya Hall, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds. Hall is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. Ezria Pierre-louis was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Palm Beach Lakes' defeat dropped their record down to 8-8-1. As for American Heritage, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palm Beach Lakes will take on Boca Raton at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Boca Raton is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games. As for American Heritage, they will be playing at home against Miami Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Miami Country Day is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
