The Kelly Walsh Trojans fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-38 win over Rock Springs on Friday. For Kelly Walsh, this counts as revenge for the 48-28 loss Rock Springs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Kennedy Davila was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with two steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lillian Hudson, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Kelly Walsh's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Rock Springs, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kelly Walsh will take on Evanston at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Evanston comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Rock Springs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Green River at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Green River is ranked 30th, while Rock Springs is ranked 37th).
