Alma has won seven straight games at home, while Elm Creek has won seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Cardinals will host the Buffaloes at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Friday, Alma beat Hitchcock County 66-58. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cardinals' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Falcons are ranked 162nd).

Alma's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tucker Biskup led the charge by going 7-for-12 to rack up 30 points and four steals. The game was Biskup's eighth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Zavier Mitchell, who posted 14 points along with eight boards and five assists.
Meanwhile, Elm Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Kenesaw on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 59-53 victory.
Alma better focus on containing Quin Oberg and Caleb Reiter as the pair were huge in Elm Creek's win. Oberg shot 48% from the field on his way to 23 points and six rebounds, while Reiter went 8-for-16 en route to 21 points and seven boards. That's the most points Reiter has posted since back in February of 2025. Kolten Keim was another key player, putting up five points and six assists.
Alma's win bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Elm Creek, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 13-1.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest-scoring teams around. Alma hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 60.8 points per game. However, it's not like Elm Creek struggles in that department as they've been averaging 67.9 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can put up more.
Alma couldn't quite get it done against Elm Creek in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 as they fell 45-38. Will the Cardinals have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
