After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Freedom, West was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Waterford Wildcats a 10-0 shutout. Tyler Armstrong made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Julian Salsedo was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one triple.
