While High Point Academy's win against Greenville Tech Charter wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Grizzlies won by a set and slipped past the Warriors 3-2.
High Point Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Greenville Tech Charter into a fifth set where they got it done with a 11-point win. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-18, 25-11, 18-25, 15-4.
High Point Academy can attribute much of their success to Davan Beall, who had seven digs and four aces, and Angie Demidovich, who had eight digs and four aces. What's more, Demidovich posted four assists, the most she's had since back in September.
They weren't the only good servers: High Point Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 27 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Chesnee earned a 3-1 victory over Crescent on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Chesnee was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-15, 21-25, 27-25.
Chesnee's win bumped their record up to 16-4-1. As for High Point Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
