Park Place Christian Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Lamar Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Park Place Christian Academy suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 78-31 loss at the hands of Simpson Academy. While losing is never fun, Park Place Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Simpson Academy is ranked 28th).
Meanwhile, Lamar had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat East Rankin Academy 62-26 on the road. The win was just what Lamar needed coming off of a 67-42 defeat in their prior contest.
Cooper Gordy was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 18 points along with eight assists and seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Jonathan Hart was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three blocks.
Park Place Christian Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-9 record this season. As for Lamar, their win bumped their record up to 9-15.
Park Place Christian Academy came up short against Lamar in their previous meeting on January 5th, falling 59-53. Can Park Place Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
