Despite their defeat, Fernandina Beach saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ian Miller, who threw for 260 yards and three TDs, was perhaps the best of all. Miller's passing game has become a key predictor of the Pirates' success: the team is 4-2 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Another pass catcher making a difference was Aydin Poe, who picked up 123 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Impact Christian Academy). They really took it to Ridgeview for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-20 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-7.
Fernandina Beach better keep an eye on Andrew Wright Jr. He was instrumental in Impact Christian Academy's win, throwing for 220 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 passes. What's more, Wright Jr racked up 147.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexander Lee, who picked up 79 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Impact Christian Academy, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Eliyjah Caldwell-Hardy, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Impact Christian Academy's defense and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.
The victory made it two in a row for Impact Christian Academy and bumps their season record up to 5-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.5 points over those games. As for Fernandina Beach, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Fernandina Beach took a serious blow against Impact Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 38-6. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Pirates were down 26-6.
