The Carrboro Jaguars are taking a road trip to face off against the South Granville Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Carrboro comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Meanwhile, South Granville never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 48-0 win over Cedar Ridge. The Vikings' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Carrboro better keep an eye on Jaylen Wilkerson. He was instrumental in South Granville's win, rushing for 127 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries. Wilkerson's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 127 rushing yards. Ashton Hailey-Alston helped out on the ground, rushing for 82 yards and a rushing touchdown.
South Granville was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 261 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to South Granville's defense and their five sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece ( Tyrell Thornton and Timmy Stubbs also recorded half a sack).
Carrboro's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for South Granville, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.
Carrboro won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in September of 2024, slipping by South Granville 7-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Jaguars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
