Softball Recap: Friday's Win Is Summer Creek's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Summer Creek put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They never let the Humble Wildcats get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 13 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Elaina Bonuelos was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelynn Mcdougal, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Summer Creek hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in nine consecutive games.

Summer Creek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Humble, they dropped their record down to 5-22 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Summer Creek is set to take on their familiar foe Kingwood at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 2.5, the Mustangs 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Humble will challenge rival Goose Creek Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
