The Onsted Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Ida Bluestreaks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Onsted focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Onsted beat Hudson 42-29. The victory was just what Onsted needed coming off of a 63-43 loss in their prior contest.
Onsted got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maddie Borders out in front who scored seven points along with five steals. Borders is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played. JayElle Christian was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Ida unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. Their rough 50-25 loss to Blissfield might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Ida can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Blissfield is ranked 23rd).
Onsted's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Ida, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.
Onsted came up short against Ida when the teams last played last Monday, falling 50-37. Can Onsted avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
