Fort Zumwalt East had a rough outing against Rockwood Summit last week, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Fort Zumwalt East got past St. Charles West with less than a touchdown to spare, ending up at 34-28. The success represented a nice turnaround for Fort Zumwalt East, who in their last game suffered a tough 19-48 defeat.
Fort Zumwalt East's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 22 points in the first half. St. Charles West came up with 7 to make it 22-7 heading into the break. Fort Zumwalt East were outperformed in the second half 12-21 but had enough in reserve to walk away with the win. The matchup brought them to 2-1 and dropped St. Charles West to a mirror-image 1-2.
Next week Fort Zumwalt East take on Washington at 7:00 PM. St. Charles West will look to defend their home turf against Winfield at 7:00 PM.
