The South Effingham Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Calvary Day Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Saturday, South Effingham sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Cambridge. South Effingham's winning goal came courtesy of Edson Escobar.
Meanwhile, Calvary Day made easy work of Effingham County on Saturday and carried off a 4-1 win. Four seems to be a good number for Calvary Day as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.
The win made it two in a row for South Effingham and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Calvary Day, their win bumped their record up to 2-0-1.
South Effingham came out on top in a nail-biter against Calvary Day in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for South Effingham since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
