The result came thanks to Carter Scott's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Jupiter Christian's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 3-1 (and 6-7 when he doesn't).
At the plate, Brady Gelb was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Atlantic Christian got the win against Berean Christian on Tuesday by a conclusive 16-6. The result was nothing new for the Sharks, who have now won ten contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Micah Herring, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Anthony Tonge was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Atlantic Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matchups.
Atlantic Christian's victory bumped their record up to 14-2. As for Jupiter Christian, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Jupiter Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Atlantic Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .375. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jupiter Christian came up short against Atlantic Christian in their previous matchup back in March, falling 6-3. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
