The Trinity Lutheran Cougars struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Lanesville Eagles had 15 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Trinity Lutheran was beaten by Lanesville 73-39. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Trinity Lutheran has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Trinity Lutheran saw an underclassman step up: Marley Warren scored 20 points.
Lanesville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Hylton Brumley out in front who scored 21 points along with four steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Ava Kerr, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Trinity Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Lanesville, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with that win, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Trinity Lutheran will be playing at home against Brown County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lanesville, they will head out on the road to face off against Eastern at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Eastern has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
