The Ritchie County Rebels's five-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They skirted past Ravenswood 54-52. The win was all the more spectacular given Ritchie County's disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Ravenswood is ranked 20th).
Ritchie County found their leader in underclassman Isaac Hodges, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. Bodhi Utter was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Ritchie County's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5. As for Ravenswood, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ritchie County will challenge Wahama at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wahama is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games. As for Ravenswood, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Marys at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Marys is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
