The Lockland Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Ansonia Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lockland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 668th, while Ansonia is ranked 216th).
Lockland was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They snuck past Clark Montessori with a 27-22 win. The victory was just what Lockland needed coming off of a 41-0 loss in their prior game.
Damien Dawson had a dynamite game for Lockland, rushing for 285 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.2 yards per carry, and also throwing for 172 yards and three touchdowns. Mouhamed Tall was in the mix as well, providing Lockland with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Ansonia put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Mississinawa Valley at home to the tune of 46-6. The result was nothing new for Ansonia, who have now won seven games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Lockland has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. As for Ansonia, their victory was their tenth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-0.
