After a string of six wins, the Spring-Ford Rams's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 55-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Colonial.
Several Rams players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kareena Preuss, who scored six points. Preuss set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie L pettinelli, who scored six points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Colonial got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jasmynne Gibson out in front who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Destinie Gordon, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Spring-Ford's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2. As for Colonial, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.
Spring-Ford's road trip will continue as they head out to face Springboro at 6:25 p.m. on December 29, 2023. Springboro will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Colonial won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Venice at 9:55 a.m. on December 28, 2023. Hopefully Venice focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday.
