The Hagerstown Tigers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 58-37 walloping at the hands of Jay County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hagerstown has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Hagerstown lost, one person who can't be blamed is Landon Lawson. Despite the final result, he scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Schmitz, who scored 14 points.
Jay County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trevin Dunnington, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Ben Crouch was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Hagerstown bumped their record down to 3-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Jay County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-9.
Hagerstown will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Hamilton Heights at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Hamilton Heights' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven matchups. As for Jay County, they will head out on the road to square off against Bluffton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
