Agoura is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over Newbury Park on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.
Chaden Chatelain made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Agoura got a massive performance out of Mia Gomez, who scored four runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jordy Charash, who scored three runs while going 4-for-5.
Agoura kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Calabasas was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 15-1 to Louisville.
Calabasas saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isabella Manno, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
Agoura has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. Calabasas' loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Calabasas' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Agoura has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. It's a different story for Calabasas, though, as they've only averaged .320. Will they be able to contain Agoura's hitters?
