Elbert entered their tilt with Genoa-Hugo/Karval on Thursday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Genoa-Hugo/Karval Pirates 72-27. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Elbert to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ethan Tesman, who went 8-for-10 to rack up 18 points and three steals. What's more, Tesman also posted an 80% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2023. Caleb Cornell was another key player, shooting 58% from the field en route to 19 points.

Loss or not, Genoa-Hugo/Karval got some senior leadership from Eddy Franey and Tehgan Seymour. Franey posted 11 points, while Seymour scored seven points. Seymour is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last four games he's played. Tayler Thelen also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Elbert pushed their record up to 17-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.1 points over those games. As for Genoa-Hugo/Karval, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-18.

Elbert didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-38 defeat against Cheyenne Wells on the 28th. As for Genoa-Hugo/Karval, they have also already played their next matchup, a 51-25 loss against Cheraw on the 28th.
