Two dominant backs in DaZarie Carson and Juelz Johnson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Cathedral Prep Ramblers will head out to challenge the Farrell Steelers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cathedral Prep is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
On Friday, Cathedral Prep ended up a good deal behind General McLane and lost 28-14.
Even if they lost, Cathedral Prep's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Dominic Panighetti was especially locked on to General McLane's QB and sacked him twice.
Meanwhile, while Farrell put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Reynolds. The Steelers blew past the Raiders, posting a 74-0 victory. Considering the Steelers have won six games by more than 22 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Cathedral Prep better keep an eye on AAron Pegues. He was instrumental in Farrell's win, throwing for 205 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes, while also rushing for 52 yards and one score on only five carries. Another player making a difference was Gavin Petitford, who rushed for 32 yards and one TD.
Farrell was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 344 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.
Farrell pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.2 points on average over those games. As for Cathedral Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Cathedral Prep has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 179.9 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Farrell struggles in that department as they've been averaging 230.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Cathedral Prep was able to grind out a solid win over Farrell in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 7-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ramblers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
