Softball Recap: Bath Wins Going Away Against Crestview

Bath won the last time they faced Crestview and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 15-9 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Hailee Mauk was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Alyx Liles also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bath kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Bath is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Crestview, they dropped their record down to 5-12 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Bath will welcome Defiance at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bulldogs will aim to continue their five-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Crestview, they will head out on the road to take on Jefferson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.55 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
