Yorkville faced Kaneland in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Foxes blew past the Knights 10-2. That looming 10-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Foxes yet this season.

Liv Lathen was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season. Isla Eidsness was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Yorkville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Yorkville's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Kaneland, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Coming up, Yorkville will venture away from home to take on Neuqua Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kaneland, they will take on Serena at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
