Softball Recap: Millard South Wins Going Away Against Marian

Millard South won the last time they faced Marian and things went their way on Saturday too. The Patriots blew past the Crusaders 11-1. Considering the Patriots have won five matchups by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Millard South let Cindy Xiong and Caylen Goff run wild. Xiong went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI, while Goff went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Xiong has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ellie Gilpin, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

Millard South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marian only posted an OBP of .235.

Millard South's win bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Marian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.
