Football Recap: Talawanda Skates Past Blanchester with Ease

Everything came up roses for the Talawanda Brave against the Blanchester Wildcats on Friday as the team secured a 37-7 win. The result was nothing new for the Brave, who have now won nine matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Lance Cantrell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 160 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Hainline, who rushed for 70 yards and one score on only six carries.

Talawanda's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Sam Yoches was especially locked on to Blanchester's QB and sacked him twice.

The victory made it two in a row for Talawanda and bumps their season record up to 9-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 21 points in those games. As for Blanchester, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Coming up, Talawanda will challenge Goshen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Brave will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Blanchester does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
