The Jensen Beach Falcons will face off against the Okeechobee Brahmans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Jensen Beach sitting on five straight victories and Okeechobee on four.
Jensen Beach is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Suncoast get on the board and left with a 17-0 win.
Suncoast's batters probably weren't too happy with Riley Boop, who pitched a no hitter and racked up seven Ks (she gave up a single walk). Boop has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jensen Beach got a massive performance out of Cali Mendenhall, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Mendenhall has posted since back in February. Molly Santiago was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Jensen Beach always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .731. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Suncoast only posted an OBP of .100.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Okeechobee sidestepped Dr. Joaquin Garcia for a 10-8 victory.
Audra Friend was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Haylee Pendrey, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Jensen Beach's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Okeechobee, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10.
Okeechobee's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Jensen Beach has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Okeechobee, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.1 strikeouts. Will Jensen Beach keep running through batters, or will the Brahmans buck the trend?
Jensen Beach came out on top in a nail-biter against Okeechobee when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Brahmans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
