Schaumburg Christian is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Harvest Christian Academy on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Schaumburg Christian was dealt a 55-18 loss at the hands of Harvest Christian Academy. The Conquerors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-7.

Despite the defeat, Schaumburg Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sarah Perfanov posted two points along with six boards and three steals. Perfanov has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.
Even though they lost, Schaumburg Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups.
Yorkville Christian has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 75-59 fall against Aurora Central Catholic on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while the Chargers are ranked 33rd).
Schaumburg Christian will have to contain Payton Wallin as she made an impact in Yorkville Christian's last game. She dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds. That's the most boards Wallin has posted since back in November of 2024. Ava DiQui was another key player, putting up ten points.
Yorkville Christian's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Schaumburg Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Schaumburg Christian has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 37.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Yorkville Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 35 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
