It was a proper cat-fight when Liberty Christian faced off against Muncie Central on Monday. The Lions put the hurt on the Bearcats with a sharp 19-5 win. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now won seven in a row.
Ellie Callahan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Liberty Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Christel House struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Liberty Christian came up short against Christel House when the teams last played back in May of 2025, falling 6-1. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
