North Olmsted is 1-9 against Westlake since September of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will challenge the Demons at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
North Olmsted came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Bay, falling 3-0.
North Olmsted took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-18, 25-19.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Nela Bosch, who had ten digs and two assists.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Westlake and Buckeye, and Buckeye kept the tradition alive. The Demons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bucks on Wednesday.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-17, 18-25, 25-13.
Like North Olmsted, Westlake lost despite seeing results from several players. Rowan Krall led the charge by getting four digs and two aces. Reda Elder also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.
North Olmsted's defeat dropped their record down to 16-5. As for Westlake, their loss dropped their record down to 7-11.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: North Olmsted has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Westlake struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.1 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
North Olmsted took their victory against Westlake in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
