Softball Recap: Atholton Sets Scoring Season-High Against Oakland Mills

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Atholton). Everything went their way against the Oakland Mills Scorpions on Wednesday as Atholton made off with a 23-6 win. That's more bragging rights for the Raiders, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Atholton let Reagan Law and Elli Cathirell run wild. Law went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI, while Cathirell went a perfect 5-for-5 with four runs, two triples, and four RBI. Law is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Tatiana Maltez-Rosales, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4.

Atholton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .769. Their OBP was a full 0 higher than the also-impressive .586 that Oakland Mills posted.

The victory got Atholton back to even at 2-2-1. As for Oakland Mills, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atholton will square off against Reservoir at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Oakland Mills, they will face off against Marriotts Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Oakland Mills' pitchers better be ready for this one: Marriotts Ridge has averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
