Basketball Recap: Xzavier Lafleur's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sheridan Hills Christian over Don Soffer Aventura

Sheridan Hills Christian lost against Don Soffer Aventura back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Sheridan Hills Christian Sharks took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Don Soffer Aventura Barracuda. The matchup marked the Sharks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Sheridan Hills Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Xzavier LaFleur, who posted nine points and six steals. With that strong performance, LaFleur is now averaging an impressive 2.3 steals per game. Micah Smith was another key player, going 5 for 9 on his way to 11 points and seven rebounds.

Don Soffer Aventura got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dimitri Tatulishvili out in front who put up 18 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ocean Nahum, who posted 13 points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Sheridan Hills Christian dropped their record down to 3-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Don Soffer Aventura, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Sheridan Hills Christian will venture away from home to square off against Berean Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Don Soffer Aventura, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 50-44 win against David Posnack Jewish Day on the 11th.
