Basketball Recap: Asheville Christian Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Sara Larios and Laura Rinehart

Asheville Christian Academy was the 57-31 winner over Greenville H when they last played one another back in February of 2019, but their luck changed this time around. The Asheville Christian Academy Lions fell 46-36 to the Greenville H Hurricanes on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 203rd in North Carolina, while the Hurricanes are ranked 56th in South Carolina).

Despite the defeat, Asheville Christian Academy had strong showings from Laura Rinehart, who posted nine points and four steals, and Sara Larios, who scored 16 points and three steals. The match was Larios' eighth in a row with at least ten points.

It was another big night for Macie Hanley, who went 8 for 11 en route to 17 points and six boards for Greenville H. Hanley is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Izzy Williams, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 10 points and five rebounds.

Asheville Christian Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10. As for Greenville H, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.

Asheville Christian Academy has already played their next game (against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Greenville H has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Greer.
