After five games on the road, the Smyrna Eagles are heading back home. They will square off against the Polytech Panthers on Friday. Smyrna is cruising in on a three-game winning streak while Polytech is stumbling in off of six consecutive losses.
The Eagles escaped with a win against Caesar Rodney by the margin of a single free throw, 58-57. Having pegged this as anyone's game, the MaxPreps rankings were right on the nose.
Speaking of close games: Polytech was close but no cigar on Tuesday as they fell 54-51 to Sussex Central.
Smyrna's victory brought them up to 14-4 while Polytech's loss pulled them down to 5-13. Smyrna is 9-4 after wins this year, and Polytech is 3-9 after losses.
