3A Metro - Sound recap Sept. 26, 2012
Rainier Beach moved up to 187 from 213 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Metro - Sound. A 41-40 win over the Vikings helped the Vikings improve their standing.
West Seattle was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in the league. Earlier in the week, the Wildcats triumphed over Cleveland 51-12.
Trevor Fay and Darby Blake gave Ingraham a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Fay threw for 48 yards and one touchdown, while Blake ran for 127 yards. Nate Han also contributed to the rushing game with 26 yards on the ground.
Elijah Brown was the best wideout in the league this week as Franklin defeated the Rams. Brown racked up one reception for 45 yards. James Flowers helped Franklin's passing attack out by catching one ball for two yards.
Ingraham's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rams feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Fay has thrown for 218 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Blake has nine catches for 82 yards. Blake leads the league in rushing with 399 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when West Seattle takes on Rainier Beach. The Wildcats are currently in first, while Mark Haley's team is in third.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when West Seattle takes on the Vikings. The Wildcats have allowed 44 points this season, while Rainier Beach has given up 110.
Hale and the Vikings played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Hale eventually emerging with a 41-40 victory.
