Lamar entered their tilt with C.A. Johnson on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They really took it to the Hornets for the full four quarters, racking up a 53-8 victory. The Silver Foxes pushed the score to 46-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hornets cut but never quite recovered from.

Lamar's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nygel Eaddy, who rushed for 129 yards and two TDs on only 13 carries. Those 129 rushing yards gave Eaddy a new career-high. Lamar also got a significant boost from Tj Samuel, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 90 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lamar was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 265 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 233 rushing yards in six consecutive games.

Lamar's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for C.A. Johnson, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-5.
