The Lapel Bulldogs made easy work of the Beech Grove Hornets on Tuesday and carried off a 14-8 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Jakoby Nunley was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ty Jones, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double.
Lapel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
The win made it two in a row for Lapel and bumps their season record up to 9-7. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 8 runs.
