Patuxent had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 35-27 victory over the Boonsboro Warriors on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Patuxent found their leader in freshman Brayden Watson, who threw for 157 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 64 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Patuxent's defense and their three sacks. Emir Green was especially locked on to Boonsboro's QB and sacked him twice. Green has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played.
Patuxent's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Boonsboro, they dropped their record down to 9-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Looking ahead, Patuxent will square off against Fort Hill at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Sentinels have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven games. Boonsboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
