Malcom Nusbickel was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jared Boon, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Connor McCumiskey, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Schenevus Central sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Gilboa-Conesville Central on Tuesday.
Owen Green was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Levi Jordan also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Fillmore's record now sits at 18-2. As for Schenevus Central, their record is now 13-3.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Fillmore has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .464. However, it's not like Schenevus Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .455. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
