Basketball Recap: South Webster Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

South Webster put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Eastern Eagles with a sharp 57-31 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Jeeps also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

South Webster got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Beau Stephens out in front who went 6 for 8 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Stephens a new career-high in points. Hunter Barnard was another key player, going 6 of 14 on his way to 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

South Webster's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Eastern, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

South Webster is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will square off against Oak Hill at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastern and Portsmouth West will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Portsmouth West will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Eastern surely won't give up without a fight.
