The Duchesne Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Carbon Dinos at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Duchesne knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Carbon likes a good challenge.
Two weeks ago, Duchesne made easy work of San Juan and carried off a 13-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.
Kira Grant made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Grant was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

In other batting news, Lorisa Mower was excellent, scoring a run while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessa Farnsworth, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Duchesne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Juan only posted an OBP of .211.
Carbon hadn't beaten North Sanpete on the road since April 14, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Dinos came out on top against the Hawks by a score of 5-1.
Danica Adams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 19 Ks.
On the hitting side, Carbon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aleece Ardohain, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Sienna Alderson also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Duchesne is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Carbon, their record now sits at 6-9.
Carbon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Duchesne has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .504. It's a different story for Carbon, though, as they've only averaged .362. Will they be able to contain Duchesne's hitters?
Duchesne took their win against Carbon in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
