The Horizon Hawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They really took it to Prairie View for the full four quarters, racking up a 80-42 victory at home. The victory was nothing new for Horizon as they're now sitting on five straight.
Morgan Ives was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten assists. That's the first time this season that she posted eight or more assists. Natalie Thornton was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Horizon pushed their record up to 12-2 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.1 points per game. As for Prairie View, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Horizon will take on Loveland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Loveland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Horizon is ranked seventh). As for Prairie View, Prairie View and Fossil Ridge will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
