The Bush Blazers entered their tilt with the Northwest Yeshiva Lions with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Bush walked away with a 56-47 victory over Northwest Yeshiva on Thursday. This was payback for Bush, who suffered a 66-51 loss the last time these two teams met.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joe Benoliel, who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Sam Weichbrodt, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Bush has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Northwest Yeshiva, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Bush will head out on the road to square off against Eastside Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Northwest Yeshiva, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pope John Paul II at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday. Pope John Paul II has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 30.
