The Antonito Trojans suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Centennial 82-38. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Antonito in their matchups with Centennial: they've now lost five in a row.
Antonito's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Octavian Martinez, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martinez has scored all season. Jasiah Jiron was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Antonito's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Centennial, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Antonito will head out on the road to challenge Moffat at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Moffat will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Centennial, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Lake City Community at 3:30 p.m. on January 20th.
