Clio is 1-9 against the Blue Devils since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Clio Mustangs will be playing at home against the Lake Fenton Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Clio slipped by the Blackhawks 46-45. The win was just what Clio needed coming off of a 57-25 defeat in their prior game.
Ellie Neuhaus continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 16 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below two blocks for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Persia Davis, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Lake Fenton can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Corunna 70-30 at home. Winning may never get old, but Lake Fenton sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Lake Fenton had a senior duo take command as Emerson Baker scored 23 points along with seven assists and five steals and Savannah "sj" fellenbaum dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. "sj" fellenbaum hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Anna Prevost, who scored nine points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
The win got Clio back to even at 7-7. As for Lake Fenton, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Clio have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lake Fenton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
