New Britain is 7-1 against Manchester since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Golden Hurricanes will venture away from home to challenge the Red Hawks at 6:00 p.m. New Britain is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
New Britain had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 35-point drubbing they dealt Platt on Friday. The Golden Hurricanes blew past the Panthers 49-14. Considering the Golden Hurricanes have won four games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

New Britain got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Billy Seymour out in front who rushed for 101 yards and three TDs on only eight carries, and also threw for 83 yards and one touchdown. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Seymour a new career-high. Jaden Benitez also helped out as he racked up 114 rushing yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: New Britain was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 352 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 209 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
New Britain didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Adrian Blackwell and Todd Samuel. Another thorn in Platt's side was Damitrie Bishop, who made 14 total tackles.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Manchester and Hall, and Hall kept the tradition alive. The Red Hawks fell 37-30 to the Titans on Friday. While the Red Hawks had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Titans 16-7.
New Britain will need to focus on slowing down Jeremiah Pinckney, one of several Manchester players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 118 yards and one score on only 15 carries. Samuel Mojica got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Manchester's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Noah Colon. Mojica got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
New Britain's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Manchester, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. New Britain has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 328.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Manchester struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 160.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
New Britain and Manchester were almost perfectly matched up in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, but New Britain suffered an agonizing 28-27 defeat. Can the Golden Hurricanes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
