The Woodsboro Eagles will face off against the Kenedy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodsboro is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Tuesday. Woodsboro blew past Pettus 16-5. Considering Woodsboro has won 19 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Sidney Castillo made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up five earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Woodsboro got a massive performance out of Maddie Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That home run was Martinez's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Aniya Zena, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Woodsboro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Kenedy nor Skidmore-Tynan made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Lions walked away with a 4-1 win over the Bobcats.
The team relied heavily on Amerai Escobedo, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Kenedy's victory bumped their record up to 18-10. As for Woodsboro, their win bumped their record up to 28-5.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Woodsboro hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .375. However, it's not like Kenedy struggles in that department as they've averaged .385. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Woodsboro beat Kenedy 8-5 in their previous meeting back in March. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
